Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Berlin, Vermont (zip 05602) – Vermont nursing jobs
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks (potential extension up to 32 weeks)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Med/Surg Telemetry Unit (51 beds)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250
• Start Date: November 24, 2025
• End Date: March 15, 2026
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; must work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
• Floating: Required to similar units (infrequent)
• Documentation System: Epic EMR
• Medication System: Pyxis
• Parking: Free onsite parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – required for all Vermont RN jobs
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications (NIHSS must be completed prior to start)
• Telemetry certification preferred
• Minimum 5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience OR 3 years of dedicated Telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required (at least 2 travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities OR previous experience at any UVMHN acute care facility)
• EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Proficient in NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and telemetry strip interpretation
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)
• Vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver acute care to adult patients with diverse diagnoses: telemetry, post-op ortho/urology/GI, COPD, CHF, diabetes, dementia, and end-of-life care
• Apply, interpret, and respond to telemetry rhythms for optimal patient monitoring
• Perform bedside procedures: NG tube insertion, peripheral IV placement, and telemetry strip interpretation
• Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, LNAs, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Float to similar medical-surgical units as needed
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to hospital dress code standards
