Job Details:
• Work in a medical/surgical unit providing nursing care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Must have travel experience and step down experience required
• Must have acute care surgical floor experience - OR candidates will not be accepted
• ENT and/or Transplant experience preferred
• Care for pre and post-operative surgical patients
• Handle patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT
• Some patients require step down care
• Patient ratios: 5-6:1 for surgical patients and 3-4:1 for step down area
• Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed, initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Interact with families and patients regarding care plans and discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff
• 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License required
• Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association required
