The position requires attending deliveries, performing procedures such as circumcisions, and managing pediatric patients primarily in a Level I nursery setting without a dedicated PICU. Board certification in Pediatrics, active licensure, and experience with EPIC EMR are required, with additional participation in Colorado Medicaid expected.
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking Pediatric locum tenens physicians to provide 24-hour call coverage in an inpatient setting. This role focuses primarily on newborn and pediatric floor care, with an emphasis on neonatal resuscitation and management of respiratory and infectious conditions. Initial coverage is needed in early January, with additional ongoing dates to follow as schedules are released.
Dates / ScheduleInitial Coverage: January 1 5 (24-hour call shifts)
Shift Time: 7:00 a.m. 7:00 a.m. (next day)
Ongoing Coverage: Additional dates to be released June December as schedules are finalized
FTE: 1.0
Setting: Call coverage, inpatient pediatrics
Average Callback Hours: 1.2 hours per shift
Provide 24-hour pediatric call coverage
Care for newborns and inpatient pediatric patients
Attend all C-sections and selected deliveries
Perform neonatal resuscitation and circumcisions
Manage respiratory and infectious diseases in pediatric patients (% of duties)
Participate in initial resuscitation and management of high-risk deliveries
Work in a Level I nursery; no dedicated PICU
ICU may occasionally accept older adolescents (>50 kg), though none admitted to date
Annual volume includes approximately 250 deliveries and pediatric admissions

Support Staff: None

Board Certified in Pediatrics (Required)
Active Colorado License or Active IMLC with LOQ in hand (Required)
BLS Certification (Highly preferred; required for credentialing)
Active DEA (Highly preferred; required for credentialing)
Proficiency in:
Neonatal resuscitation
Inpatient pediatrics and newborn care
Circumcision
Pediatric respiratory and infectious disease management
Willingness to participate in Colorado Medicaid (required; 80% of patient population)
EPIC EMR experience and completion of all required EMR training prior to start
Clean malpractice and background history (NPDB self-inquiry strongly preferred)
Availability for listed dates and disclosure of ongoing monthly availability required
