Job Details:

• Work night shifts in a 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU)
• 36 or 48 hours available (block scheduling cannot be accommodated/guaranteed)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule required
• Maximum 40 hours allowed for time off
• 2:1 patient ratio for all shifts (days, nights, weekends)
• Care for patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must adhere to float policy within scope of practice
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 2 years of experience required
• BSN preferred
• Virginia license required (can submit with pending license but must have in-hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Nursys verification required for submittal
• References required
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CAD, MI, valvular disease, heart failure, aortic conditions, and various cancers
• Work with specialized equipment including CRRT, PA catheters, ECMO, IABP, and ventilators
• Perform procedures such as arterial line management, chest tube care, blood product administration, and ventilator management
