A Neurovascular Physician is sought for locum coverage providing neurointerventional procedures, inpatient management, and clinic care in a 24-hour shift environment. The role involves collaboration with hospitalists, neurosurgeons, and Advanced Practice Providers, utilizing EPIC for EMR and managing a comprehensive stroke program. Candidates must be board certified, licensed in Illinois, and have relevant certifications and experience.

- Full-Time Commitment: The ideal candidate will be available for a minimum of 7 consecutive shifts (more preferred), providing full-time coverage across 24-hour shifts.
- Diverse Role: This role includes a mix of neurointerventional procedures, general neurology coverage, inpatient management, and clinic work.
- Schedule: Coverage includes 24-hour shifts:
- Weekdays: 3 clinic days per week (12-hour clinic days with night call).
- Weekends: Call coverage only (no clinic).
- Collaborative Environment: You will not work solo. You will collaborate closely with hospitalists, neurosurgery, regional facilities, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who supplement coverage based on volume. You will also act as a collaborating physician for the APPs.
- EMR System: The facility uses EPIC for charting.
- Quick Privileging: The estimated time to secure full or temporary privileges is 60 days.
- Perform neurointerventional and endovascular procedures consistent with a comprehensive stroke program.
- Provide general neurology coverage as needed.
- Manage an inpatient census of approximately 15 patients, including consults, admissions, and ER cases.
- Serve as the primary call contact for CareHub transfer calls related to neurology and neurointerventional cases.
- Act as the collaborating physician for APPs.
- Education: MD or DO.
- Board Status: Board Certified.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Licensure: An Active Illinois State License is REQUIRED (clean background). IMLC will not be accepted.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA, and CSR licenses are required.
- The target start date is January 1, 2026.
