Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Rome, NY 13440 (Central New York nursing jobs)
• Contract Type: Per Diem (Travel Nursing)
• Start Date: October 27, 2025
• End Date: January 24, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM); flexibility to cover day shifts a plus
• Minimum Shifts: 2 shifts per month required
• Hours per Week: 36 (typical)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680-$1800
• Openings: 3 Med/Surg RN positions available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Certification (required before start date)
• Proficient IV skills; experience with cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and wound care
• Ability to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed
• Completion of 8 hours of CEUs during facility orientation
• Flu vaccine or declination (mask required if declining)
• Travel nursing experience preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to Medical/Surgical and Telemetry patients
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips; interpret EKG strips accurately
• Perform wound care and IV therapy with clinical expertise
• Float to other Med/Surg units as required by the healthcare facility
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols
• Participate in ongoing education and orientation requirements
