Title: MRI Technologist
Location: Newark, NY
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift:
Day Shift, 5x8 hours (Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30)
Wednesday: 07:30–16:00; may cover 12:30–20:30 if second-shift coverage is needed
Responsibilities:
Perform MRI procedures across a wide range of anatomical areas including brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, musculoskeletal, head/neck, and cardiovascular imaging.
Conduct advanced MRI studies such as MRA, MRV, MRCP, perfusion, spectroscopy, diffusion, and post-processing techniques.
Prepare and administer contrast media and start peripheral IVs as needed.
Ensure patient safety, including radiation and MRI safety protocols, isolation precautions, and safe patient handling.
Work with adult and pediatric patients in inpatient, outpatient, ICU, ER/trauma, and acute care settings.
Utilize PACS and MRI equipment (Client systems) effectively.
Collaborate with radiology and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of MRI experience.
ARRT-R and BLS certifications required.
State MRI license required at start.
Experience with a broad range of MRI exams and patient age groups.
Ability to work independently with a patient ratio of approximately 1:2 on day shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
MRI certification.
Experience with Epic charting system.
Community hospital experience.
Trauma Level I or II experience.
Advanced MRI procedures (e.g., MRA/MRV, spectroscopy, perfusion, cine studies).
Leadership or charge/management experience.
