This locum tenens position seeks a Board-Certified Surgical Critical Care/Trauma Surgeon to provide inpatient critical care and trauma coverage at a Level I Trauma Center. Responsibilities include managing the trauma ICU, evaluating consults, performing emergency surgeries, and supervising residents and advanced practice providers. The schedule involves weekday clinical hours with weekday and weekend on-call duties at an academic medical center.
One of our partners, UMass Memorial Medical Center University Campus, is seeking a Board-Certified Surgical Critical Care / Trauma Surgeon to provide inpatient critical care and trauma coverage on a locum tenens basis. This high-acuity position supports a busy Level I trauma service with resident and APP support and includes weekday clinical coverage with weekday and weekend call.

Call Duties May Include
Trauma service coverage
Emergency general surgery consults (0 8/call)
Emergency operative cases (0 3/call)
Advanced Practice Providers: 2 day, 1 night
Resident support: PGY3/PGY4 + interns
Full multidisciplinary trauma team
Inpatient surgical critical care coverage
Manage trauma ICU and activations
Evaluate trauma/EGS consults
Provide emergency operative intervention
Supervise and collaborate with residents and APPs
