Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med Surg position at an acute care setting, requiring a MO or compact RN license and strong Med Surg skills.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Med Surg unit of an acute care hospital
- Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm to 7:00am
- 36 hours per week required with day and weekend rotation
- Unit has 39 beds with patient ratios of 1:6
- Unit also covers monitoring of patients with pacemakers, potassium abnormalities, and basic telemetry (no acute cardiac cases)
- Basic telemetry experience is a plus but not required
- Meditech EMR is used and experience is highly preferred
- Medication system used is McKesson
- First to float to other Med Surg units within the nurse's scope of practice
- Must wear royal blue scrubs, which are not provided
- Opportunities to care for a variety of Med Surg and basic telemetry patients
- Hospital may cancel 1 shift every 4 weeks
- Travelers are expected to secure their own housing and should be prepared for potential challenges in finding affordable accommodations
- First time travelers will be considered
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (ACLS and NIHSS may be obtained during the placement process at no cost)
- Meditech EMR experience highly preferred
