Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant credential required
  • Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required
  • One or more years of experience preferred
  • Strong administrative and keyboarding skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Professional, empathetic, and service-oriented communication style

Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Assist providers as part of a collaborative care team
  • Room patients, take vitals, and document protected health information
  • Escort patients and support smooth patient flow throughout the clinic
  • Maintain provider schedules and organize appointments
  • Assist with radiation scheduling and imaging coordination
  • Collect and manage outside medical records and reports
  • Answer patient calls and provide timely follow-up
  • Offer compassionate support to patients and families during diagnosis and treatment
  • Perform daily clinic setup and maintain a prepared, welcoming environment
  • Stay current on insurance plans and patient payment options
  • Occasionally work at multiple locations within Anchorage, with some travel required
