A Board-Certified Gastroenterology Physician providing specialized care in both outpatient clinics and inpatient endoscopy centers. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and esophageal manometry, supported by a multidisciplinary clinical team. The role involves scheduled clinical hours, on-call phone consultations, and rare hospital callbacks to manage patient care effectively.
Setting: Outpatient clinic and inpatient endoscopy center
Schedule:
Clinic: Mon Fri, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Inpatient Procedures: Start at 7:30 AM, typically end by 3:30 PM
Call: Beeper call; phone consults, rare hospital callbacks (1 2/month)
Shift Type: Scheduled clinical hours plus call
Patient Volume: patients per day
Support Staff: 4 RNs, 1 MA, 1 PA/NP, 4 office staff
Beds: 78
EMR: Epic
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
NC Medical License (No IMLC accepted)
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
Fellowship: Preferred
Experience: Comfortable with both inpatient and outpatient GI care
Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, variceal injection)
Colonoscopy (biopsy, polyp excision)
Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
Esophageal manometry and dilatation
Small bowel biopsy
Call just added: 10 days/month; mostly phone consults with rare hospital returns.
