American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
Responsibilities- Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital setting
- Required to perform a wide range of procedures including general surgery, gynecological, orthopedic, ophthalmic, and urological surgeries
- Patient ratios are 1:1
- Scheduled 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend required
- Call coverage required with a 30-minute callback expectation
- No floating required
- Uses Stryker orthopedic equipment, Olympus lap equipment, and Fugi endoscopy system
- Meditech used for documentation and Omnicell for medication administration
- 24 hours of unit orientation provided
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Responsibilities include assisting in a variety of surgical procedures and ensuring safe perioperative care
- Set team structure with no floating to other units
- Orientation to unit and workflow lasts 24 hours
- Weekend and call obligations are required with a 30-minute callback standard
- Every other weekend work is required
- Candidates are provided scrubs on-site
- Candidates will be interviewed before an offer is extended
- First-time travelers are considered for this position
- Locals are accepted for this role
- Active NC or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a general Operating Room setting
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- Skills in colonoscopy, EGD, laparoscopic procedures, orthopedic, ophthalmology, gynecology, and urology surgeries required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation, infection control, and radiation safety necessary
- Experience using Meditech and Omnicell preferred
