Registered Nurse - PT Infusion Center

Part-time (20 hrs/wk) with no weekends or holidays + sign-on bonus for external hires. Registered Nurse (Infusion Center) — PT, M–F day shift, 20 hours/week; location: Saint Louis, MO (SSM Health SLU West Pavilion). Regular worker type; ongoing role; uses EHR, POC ultrasound, infusion pumps. - Must hold RN license for work state (MO/IL/OK/WI or compact RN). - BLS (AHA) required. - One of infusion/oncology/anticoagulation certifications required (AOCN, OCN, CRNI, CACP, VA‑BC, FIT, chemo/biotherapy certificates, etc.). - Ability to perform IV and central line insertion/assessment and use POC ultrasound.

Job Summary:

Performs the primary functions of a registered nurse in assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of all assigned patients.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports the care of the patient and assesses and addresses the needs of the patient/family.
• Works collaboratively with other interprofessional team members in resolving patient/family problems, concerns and issues.
• Collaborates with other departments as needed to establish the patient/family treatment plan.
• Individualizes, implements, evaluates or updates the plan of care and patient educational needs regarding vascular access.
• Possesses the ability to complete intravenous insertion and assessment to include peripheral and central line access.
• Utilizes equipment such as point of care ultrasound equipment and intravenous infusion pumps as appropriate.
• Demonstrates proper interpretation of department specific policies and related laboratory results to safely manage specific patient needs.
• Implements, monitors and records patient care and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Takes appropriate actions to unanticipated changes in patient condition.
• Utilizes the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to access treatment and therapy plans.
• Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient's age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's scope of service.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing

• Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
