Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry night shift position on an adaptive acuity unit, requiring VT or compact licensure and current PCU and drip experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is on an adaptive acuity unit with both Med Surg and Telemetry/PCU responsibilities
- Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5 for Med Surg, 3:1 for PCU care as assigned
- Unit has 25 beds in a small, critical access facility
- Travelers must be willing to float to any inpatient unit within their scope of practice
- Responsibilities include providing care for both Med Surg and PCU level patients depending on unit needs
- Must be willing to care for higher acuity patients as necessary and may not refuse PCU-level assignments
- No holiday time off (RTO) will be approved for this assignment
- A signed supervisory reference from the past two years is required for consideration
- Profile must include permanent address and relevant documentation
Requirements
- Active VT or compact state RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
- Strong PCU experience is required
- Experience administering drips is required
- At least 3 months of previous travel RN experience required
- ICU and charge nurse experience strongly preferred
- Experience in small, critical access facilities preferred
- Traveler must have own vehicle
