The Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for acute and chronic conditions in outpatient or inpatient settings. Responsibilities include diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, patient education, coordination with other healthcare providers, and compliant medical record-keeping. Candidates must hold an MD or DO, be board-certified or eligible, have an active medical license, and demonstrate strong clinical and communication skills.
Job Summary
The Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive, patient-centered medical care to adult or family populations in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting. The physician is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic conditions while promoting preventive health and wellness.
Provide comprehensive primary care services, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of acute and chronic medical conditions
Perform routine physical examinations, preventive screenings, and health risk assessments
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with evidence-based medical guidelines
Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate
Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies
Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, lifestyle modification, and overall health maintenance
Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals as needed
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and clinical meetings
Comply with all regulatory, ethical, and professional standards of medical practice
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Completion of an accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency program
Board-eligible or board-certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Active or eligible medical license in the practicing state
DEA registration or eligibility
Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills
Ability to manage a broad patient population across varying levels of complexity
Commitment to high-quality, patient-focused care
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Proficiency with electronic health record systems
Outpatient clinic, inpatient hospital, or mixed setting depending on practice needs
Full-time or part-time schedules may be available
Call responsibilities may vary by practice model
