The Family Practice Physician provides comprehensive outpatient clinical care to patients, managing acute and chronic illnesses in alignment with clinic protocols and community standards. They collaborate with the Medical Director and healthcare team to implement quality care programs and participate in continuous quality improvement efforts. Responsibilities also include patient assessments, immunizations, lab studies, health education, specialist referrals, and case management within established medical program guidelines.
Position Summary The Family Practice Physician is a member of the interdisciplinary health care team which functions to meet the objectives of the programs. The Family Practice Physician will be responsible for providing complete clinical care for all patients under the direction of the Medical Director and by written protocols. The Family Practice Physician works in conjunction with the Medical Director in implementing and maintaining quality care programs. Schedule: Flexible, may require some evening and weekends Responsibilities Obtain medical, social and developmental histories. Perform physical exams and immunizations on all patients. Initiate laboratory exams and studies as indicated. Provide health education and counseling. Management of all acute and chronic illnesses to and above community standards always. Consult with and refer to appropriate specialist in regards to high risk or complex patients. Management of services in accordance with established Clinic's policies/procedures and contracted services under CHDP, Managed Medical Care and other medical programs and guidelines. Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care in triage situations. Participation in Clinic's Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI) program. Provide case management with other health care team members. Provide consultations to other Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistant Maintain a positive working relationship with staff. Other duties as designated by the Medical Director or Executive Director.
