American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a compact or NE RN license and strong critical care skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the ICU within a 32-bed acute care hospital, with up to 6 ICU beds utilized
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 in the ICU
- Typical shifts are 12-hour nights, with schedules of 1845-0715 or 0645-1915
- You will be one of two ICU RNs on shift
- No floating to other units is required
- Uses specialized equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, non-invasive ventilation, Hi Flo, and Airvo
- General orientation for travelers lasts 4 hours followed by shadowing a floor nurse and one additional orientation shift
- Dress code is Pewter Grey
- Unit is traveler-friendly and supportive of new team members
- ICU RNs are responsible for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams
- Patient safety, aseptic technique, and expert use of ICU equipment are integral responsibilities
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Active NE or multistate compact RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications required
- PALS (AHA) certification required
