Director of People Operations (HR)
Location: Remote (in the continental U.S.)
Travel: Minimal - but required
About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic leader to join our team as Director of People Operations. This is a critical role for a working director who thrives on solving complex challenges, driving continuous improvement, and shaping the employee experience across HR, Benefits, and Payroll.
You’ll lead a talented team, manage key vendor relationships, and ensure our People Operations function runs efficiently and effectively, while continuously looking for ways to optimize processes and deliver exceptional service.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and actively participate in daily People Operations functions, including HR, Benefits, and Payroll.
- Prepare and manage the annual HR budget and expenditures.
- Lead the annual Open Enrollment process for benefits, including medical and 401(k).
- Administer annual incentive plans and merit processes.
- Develop and deliver clear, impactful communications to associates.
- Manage and mentor HR team members.
- Negotiate and manage vendor relationships to achieve targeted service levels.
- Maintain and update HR-related policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Proven ability to lead HR operations end-to-end, including compliance, benefits, payroll, and HRIS systems (UKG or similar).
- Experience in vendor management and budgeting for HR/Benefits/Payroll.
- Strong communication skills and ability to deliver training to associates.
- A critical thinker who embraces continuous improvement and thrives in a hands-on leadership role.
