The Internal Medicine Physician will provide comprehensive inpatient medical care during nocturnist shifts at a community hospital in Rome, NY, managing acute conditions and coordinating patient care with interdisciplinary teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time, Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join a dedicated Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist at a well-established community-centered facility. Situated in the heart of Rome, New York, our hospital offers excellent inpatient practice opportunities with robust subspecialty and intensivist support.
Job Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to a manageable census of approximately 5 10 patients per night.
- Conduct thorough admissions and detailed assessments from the emergency department and direct referrals.
- Accurately document clinical encounters in the Paragon EMR system, adhering to compliance standards.
- Monitor and manage acute medical conditions with 24/7 intensivist support for complex cases.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and specialists to coordinate effective patient care plans.
- Arrange and coordinate discharge plans, addressing follow-up appointments and care needs.
- Engage in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Provide mentorship and support to residents and advanced practice providers.
- Utilize evidence-based guidelines to ensure exceptional patient care and communication.
- Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing training for professional growth.
- New graduates who are Board Eligible within 1 year are encouraged to apply.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- 1 year of hospitalist or nocturnist experience preferred, but not required.
- New York medical license or willingness to obtain.
- Clean malpractice and license history.
- DEA certification.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (Board Certification within 1 year if BE).
- Must have a valid New York medical license or be willing to obtain one.
- DEA certification is required.
