We are currently searching for a talented Psychiatrist to join our team near JUNCTION, IA. This role offers a unique blend of clinical work and potential leadership responsibilities.

Schedule and Call Requirements:

• Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, roughly 8 am - 5 pm
  • Morning rounds with every third day managing hospital calls/consults (during 9-5)
• Call Requirements:
  • Call every third evening
  • Weekend call: 5 pm Friday - 8 am Monday
  • Provider may cover a weekend (rounding/call)
  • Local providers manage most evening calls from 5 pm - 8 am
  • 24 hours for patient consults, minimizing the need for in-person after-hours responses

Job Description:

• Board Certification:
  • Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (with plans to test) in Psychiatry
• Patient Age Range:
  • Experience in treating patients ages 6 and up is preferred
• Leadership Opportunity:
  • Leadership opportunity available for qualified and interested candidates
• Clinical Focus:
  • Inpatient Psych (adult unit and adolescent unit), Hospital Consults, ER Consults
• Average Patients Per Day:
  • 5-12
• Total Beds:
  • 18 adults, 5 adolescents
• Group Composition:
  • 1 part-time inpatient Psychiatrist, 2 Advanced Practice Providers
• Psychological Support:
  • No inpatient psychologists
• EMR:
  • Cerner
• Trauma Level:
  • Designation III
• Referral/Transfer Protocol:
  • University of Iowa, 40 minutes by car
• Safety/Security Measures:
  • Security on each campus
• Required Treatment Disorders:
  • Anxiety Disorders, Affective Disorders, ADD/ADHD, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, Developmental Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Organic Disorders
• Familiarity with:
  • Family Therapy, Restraint Application, Group Therapy, Pharmacotherapy, Seclusion therapy, Voluntary Commitments, ER

Credentialing Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (with plans to test) in Psychiatry: REQUIRED
• IA License (or willing to obtain): REQUIRED
• Experience in treating patients ages 6 and up: PREFERRED
• Familiarity with specific conditions/treatments: REQUIRED
