Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Work in Medical PCU with almost ICU level acuity handling multiple cardiac drips
• Care for patients with multi-organ failure, liver failure, and pulmonary conditions
• Manage stable ventilators and complex medical cases
• Patient ratios of 4-5 patients during days, nights, and weekends
• Required to work every other weekend per contract with potential consecutive weekends based on operational needs
• Floating required to different levels of care including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU at both University and Methodist Hospitals
• May be required to provide charge nurse coverage with training and resources provided
• Travel with patients for procedures as needed
• Must agree to possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow during assignment
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH
• Minimum 2 years PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Must be proficient in titrating cardiac drips, starting IVs, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Charge experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• First time travelers accepted
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts or extension of contract based on FTE status
