The Fire Suppression Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and installing fire suppression systems, emergency lights, and fire extinguishers according to safety codes and manufacturer specifications. This role combines technical duties with sales responsibilities, including quoting, selling, and upselling fire protection products and services. The position requires physical ability to work in various environments, relevant certifications, and strong communication and customer service skills.

What you will do
The Suppression Technician III (also known as a “Route Service & Sales Representative”) will maintain a route servicing existing fire extinguisher, kitchen hoods, e-light and pre-engineered and possibly engineered gas system customers. Inspect, service, repair and install two or more suppression product lines, emergency lights, fire extinguishers, pre-engineered and industrial systems according to safety requirements and manufacturer’s specifications.
How you will do it
This position is primarily a technician role with some sales responsibilities. Make recommendations based on manufacturer’s specifications and state/local codes. Identify deficiencies. Quote, sell, and repair on-site. Up-sell existing customers to new product offerings and services to meet compliance with current fire code regulations. What we look for
Required
Knowledge of the fire protection industry.
Willing and able to climb and work in awkward and cramped positions, working around kitchen equipment, stairwells, fire escapes, etc.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must have or meet the requirements for an Extinguisher and pre-engineered permit.
Willing and able to make cold calls to potential new business, approximately 2-3 hours per week.
Flexibility with working hours, including occasional nights and weekends, to support customer needs
High School diploma or equivalent.
Able and willing to be on-call one week per month for kitchen suppression.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and carry for up to 50 yards.
Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
1+ years of customer service experience.
Able to pass a drug and background check.
Preferred
2 – 5 or more years of experience with service in the fire protection industry.
Extinguisher and pre-engineered permit (plus)

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $19.23 - $27.40 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
