Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with a current MI license and at least one year of experience for a cardiac-focused unit.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a 54-bed hospital cardiac unit specializing in telemetry care
- Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, arrhythmias, chest pain, and occasional medical overflow
- Most patients are on remote cardiac monitors and the unit manages cardiac drips
- Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting
- Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- No call responsibilities
- Traveler-to-patient ratios may increase temporarily up to 1:7 during high workload periods
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible
- Primary duties include monitoring and managing cardiac patients, including those on cardiac drips
- Team structure will include additional support staff as the unit hires new personnel
- Scrub color is Caribbean Blue
- Must be prepared for unit census fluctuations and varying workload
- Holiday coverage for 2 out of 3 major holidays is required
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year Telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Travelers must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers are eligible for consideration
