The Registered Nurse in the GI Clinic at Boston Children's Hospital provides specialized care for pediatric patients with gastrointestinal disorders, coordinating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include direct patient care, managing enteral tubes and ostomies, triage via phone, care coordination, and assisting with administrative tasks such as prior authorizations and prescription refills. This role requires a BSN, pediatric nursing experience, preferably in GI, and an MA RN license, with a focus on delivering exemplary, independent nursing care in a clinical setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing exemplary patient care and working closely with the physician partners and members of the interdisciplinary GI team.
- Functioning with a high level of independence and working with patients with complex GI disorders as well as general GI patients.
- Providing direct patient care in the clinic setting, facilitate patient flow, manage enteral tube, cecostomy and ostomy problems and other patient needs during clinic session.
- Providing care coordination between clinic visits by communicating with families, health care team members and community agencies
- Acting as primary triage contact for patient questions and phone calls. Assisting with prior authorizations, school forms/letters and prescription refills. Collaborating daily with physician team and administrative staff.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
BSN
Experience:
A background working with children with chronic illness.
Patient care, education, telephone triage and coordination of care experience.
2-3 years pediatric nursing experience is preferred.
GI experience preferred.
Licensure:
MA RN License

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
