Project Manager – Building Automation
Location: Peachtree City, GA
Our client seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead automation projects from initiation through closeout. This role requires a strong technical foundation in building automation, along with proven experience managing project schedules, financials, customer coordination, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full project lifecycle and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical oversight and quality assurance
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Project schedules with clear dependencies and deliverables
- Monitor project margin, proactively manage scope changes, and forecast financial outcomes
- Prepare and manage project financial reporting, cost projections, cash flow, and invoicing
- Draft and track change orders, and oversee procurement processes
- Coordinate directly with customers, serving as the primary commercial point of contact
- Lead regular project meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Enforce engineering standards and ensure adherence to quality plans
- Identify project risks and lead mitigation strategies
- Support the development of internal project management tools and QMS contributions
- Negotiate terms and conditions as needed
- 3–5 years of experience in automation project management or technical leadership
- Strong working knowledge of financial management and project forecasting
- Proven experience organizing, scheduling, and executing technical project plans
- Experience training and developing junior engineers
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, including sequences of operation, P&IDs, and utility systems such as chilled water, boilers, and electrical distribution
- Understanding of electrical low-voltage installation and subcontractor management
- Onsite commissioning experience highly preferred
