Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Opportunity Near Rock Valley, IA

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens role near Rock Valley, IA, starting ASAP and ongoing. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to join a dynamic team at a busy level 2 trauma center.

Position Overview:

• Position: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist
• Location: Near Rock Valley, IA
• Dates: ASAP - Ongoing
• Rate Type: On Call (Daily)
• Shift Type: 24-hour shifts
• Weekend Requirements: Possible weekend call
• On Call Requirements: Call ratio 1:5

Schedule Details:

• Weekdays (Monday - Friday):

  • Shifts: 6 AM - 3 PM
  • Occasionally: Weekday call from 3 PM - 6 AM
  • Rotation:
    • 1 MDA on vacation each week (except 2 weeks per year)
    • 1 MDA on call every day
    • 1 MDA on day shift only
    • 1 MDA 2nd call every day

• Weekends (Saturday/Sunday):

  • 1 MDA 1st Call Saturday, 2nd Call Sunday
  • 1 MDA 2nd Call Saturday, 1st Call Sunday
  • Other 3 MDAs have the weekend off

Practice Setting:

• Facility:
  • Hospital-based, level 2 trauma center
  • Surgical Services Department
  • 12 Operating Rooms
  • EMR: Cerner PowerChart
• Support Staff:
  • Experienced CRNAs (near 100% supervision by Anesthesiologists)
  • Not responsible for preparing the anesthesia cart

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Call Details:

  • 1st Call: Provider may go home after cases finish, return if a case adds or a central line is needed
  • 2nd Call: Provider typically stays late, back up if a non-cardiac MDA is 1st call

• Procedures Required:

  • General Surgical Cases (adult, pediatric)
  • Minor Nerve Blocks
  • IV Regional Anesthesia
  • Plexus Anesthesia
  • Open Heart Anesthesia
  • Thoracic Cases
  • Complex Vascular Cases
  • Complex Orthopedic Cases
  • Spinal Anesthesia
  • Epidural Anesthesia
  • Regional Anesthesia
  • Neurosurgical Cases
  • Ventilation Management
  • Local Infiltration
  • Pain Management Procedures: Acute
  • Insertion of Central Line, Arterial Line, PA Catheter
  • Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume/BP Issues

Certification and Licensure Requirements:

• Board Certification: Required
• Cardiac Experience: Required
• Certification:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
• State License: Active Iowa license
