The Trauma Program at Mercy Health St. Rita s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio is seeking a physician assistant OR Acute Nurse Practitioner to cover 12-hour shifts, 7 am to 7 pm or 7 pm to 7 am, 7 days on, 7 days off. You will work in a 407-bed regional referral center with a catchment of 480,000.
Highlights:
- Level II Trauma Center
- In house - 12-hour rotation, 7 am to 7 pm or 7 pm to 7 am
- Day and Night Shift opportunities are available.
- Independent and collaborative rounding - trauma patients
- Respond to all trauma activations.
- Collaborate with trauma surgeon and ED provider to develop plan of care for all trauma patients from presentation through discharge.
- Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to assess patients and manage all aspects of care.
- Great communication skills needed plus strong professional interaction with ancillary departments to enable best patient care and flow.
- Lead interdisciplinary rounds.
- Trauma Clinic - round on trauma patient population and support general surgery.
- This is a 24/7/365 service - weekends and holidays are required.
- Prefer (but not required) Trauma/Critical Care experience.
- EMR is EPIC
- ATLS preferred, expected within 6 months of hire.

Education and Skills Required:
- Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
- Current licensure with the state of Ohio as a physician assistant.
- Completion of an accredited PA program.
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant related field as outlined by the Ohio State Medical Board
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
