A 65-bed acute care hospital in northern rural Maine is adding an Emergency Medicine physician. Well-known for its patient-centered services, the hospital and its staff have won numerous state and national awards for quality in both customer service and clinical performance. The Hospital has over 500 employees, 40 active medical staff providers, 125 courtesy and consulting physicians, and 30 volunteers.
About the Opportunity:
- ER Physicians develop their own schedules, generally working three 12-hour shifts one week and four the next
- Work in a 24-hour ED, which sees about 16,000 visits per year
- The ED is a Level II trauma center, and sees a wide variety of cases; however, major trauma, cardiac, neurosurgery, and other critical cases are transported to a tertiary care center
- The department has one trauma room and 11 exam rooms
