American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for a 2nd shift role requiring 2+ years of experience in general, OB/GYN, and vascular ultrasound, with ARDMS and BLS certifications.
Responsibilities- Evening 2nd shift position, 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM, 5x8 hour shifts per week
- Call coverage Monday through Friday from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, rotating among all day staff
- Weekend call as needed from 6:30 PM to 6:00 AM and scheduled to work every 3rd weekend with a holiday rotation requirement
- Average of 15 scans per shift including general, OB/GYN, abdomen, small parts, vascular, and venous/arterial studies
- EMR system is Epic; prior Epic experience required
- Role involves independent work on 2nd shift, requiring comfort and proficiency without immediate supervision
- Position follows a minimum 50-mile radius rule; local candidates are not eligible
- Responsibilities include a broad range of scans for general, OB/GYN, and vascular patients, as well as supporting procedures as needed
- Role requires working both weekdays, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotation
- Orientation includes 16 hours of training
- Scrub color and detailed dress code not specified
- Holiday coverage requirement includes working 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, Thanksgiving)
- Only one day off may be requested during peak holiday periods (late November and late December to early January)
- Candidates must not have worked at the facility within the previous 12 months
- Minimum of 2 years ultrasound experience in general, abdomen, non-high risk OB/GYN, and vascular settings
- ARDMS certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Comfort and proficiency with independent work on evening shifts
- Experience with Epic EMR is required
- Proficiency in scans including abdomen/RUQ with liver vessel evaluation, kidneys and bladder, pelvis (transabdominal and transvaginal), 1st trimester OB, testicle/scrotum, DVT/venous, ABIs, thyroids, aortas, carotids, and limited 2nd/3rd trimester OBs (BPP, measurements, fluid checks)
- Experience assisting in fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis preferred
- Will consider first-time travelers meeting the experience requirements
