Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift position in the Med/Surg Admit/Discharge Unit with Epic charting and Level 1 Trauma experience required.
Responsibilities
- Position is located in the Admit/Discharge Med/Surg unit within an advanced care hospital setting
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Five shifts per week, each shift is 8 hours
- 13-week assignment length
- Care involves both admitting and discharging patients with varied medical and surgical conditions
- Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience is required
- No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
- RNs assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including rapid assessment and interpretation of complex patient data
- Responsibilities include patient bedside lab testing, using the SVI patient education system, and modifying plans of care as needed
- Must adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and hospital policies
- Participation in unit-based councils and performance improvement initiatives is expected
- Return-to-work (RTO) requests may not exceed 7 days over each 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not continuously be on assignment for more than 1 year and will require a 6-month break before returning
- No travel partners are allowed
Requirements
- Active IL RN license or temporary IL RN license required
- Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system is required
- Must possess a college diploma in nursing
