RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in a 14-bed overflow unit designed to accommodate ED boarder patients
• Function as a med/surg telemetry unit within a flex space inside GI Endoscopy area
• Patient census may increase or decrease depending on demand and boarder numbers
• Patient ratios: 5:1 during days, 7:1 during nights
• Every other weekend coverage required with 4 weekend shifts per contract
• Floating to other units required
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• EPIC charting system experience is a hard requirement
• NY license required in hand to submit
• Must live more than 75 miles from facility (locals not accepted)
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions
• Should be competent in placing IVs
• Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs
• May accommodate block scheduling but not guaranteed
• Minimal RTO requests preferred
• Pre-start modules required (up to 10 hours total)
