Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant - Gyn Oncology Department- Vassar Brothers Medical Center & Kingston Clinic (75 minutes north of New York City) 

  

Vassar Brothers Medical Center, located in Poughkeepsie, NY, just 75 minutes north of New York City, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to coordinate, oversee and provide advanced nursing care to gynecologic oncology patients. This position works collaboratively with gynecologic, medical, and radiation oncologists, gynecologic residents, supportive care team and nursing staff. This position will also see patients in our Kingston, NY outpatient clinic. 

  

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for carrying out the plan of care for his/her patient panel, will contribute to the actualization of the philosophy and objectives of the Oncology Division and will participate in performance improvement and research activities. 

  

At least one year clinical experience relative to surgical oncology or other relevant experience is preferred. Oncology Nursing Certificate is desirable. 

  

Vassar Brothers Medical Center provides our seven hospital system and multi-specialty practice with tertiary oncology services and is accredited by The American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. Vassar already has many of the key elements of a comprehensive oncology service line in place, including a Radiation Oncology team and Surgical Oncology Services in Breast, Thoracic, GI, Gynecology Oncology, and Urology. Our goal is to evolve from a comprehensive local program to a regional destination cancer program. Vassar has recently opened a new 696,000 square-foot, seven-level inpatient pavilion with 264 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms.
