Join Our Team as a Locum Physician Emergency Medicine in Mount Pleasant, MI Are you a dedicated Emergency Medicine physician seeking an exciting opportunity to make a difference while maintaining flexibility? We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Locum Physician to provide essential emergency care coverage at our hospital in Mount Pleasant, MI. This position offers the chance to work with a collaborative team in a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality patient outcomes through 2026. In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering efficient, compassionate emergency care to a diverse patient population. You will coordinate with support staff, including midlevel providers and physicians, and respond to emergency codes alongside hospital teams. Flexibility is key, as shifts vary between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., covering a 7-day schedule. Your expertise will help ensure seamless patient flow, effective triage, and safety within our 18-bed emergency department handling approximately 54 patients daily. Required Skills: Board Certification in Emergency Medicine Active Emergency Medicine license in Michigan Proven experience in emergency department settings Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork abilities Familiarity with Cerner EHR system Nice to Have Skills: Experience supervising midlevel providers Trauma Level 4 experience or familiarity Prior experience in rural or community hospital environments Additional certifications such as ACLS, ATLS, BLS Preferred Education and Experience: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine practice Proven ability to adapt to varied shift schedules and fast-paced settings Other Requirements: Travel and lodging reimbursement in accordance with policy (note: no third-party lodging arrangements) Must clock in/out using DocTime; no timesheets will be approved Ability to attend orientation starting on January 1, 2026 Availability to work varied shifts including nights and weekends Willingness to respond to hospital codes and assist with airway support during codes This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a team dedicated to excellence in emergency care.
