Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a GA or compact license and at least 18 months of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of a hospital
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
• Patient population includes post-surgical adults recovering from anesthesia
• No on-call responsibilities
• Provide care and monitoring to patients post-anesthesia in a fast-paced environment
• Strict rules for requested time off: maximum of 5 days if not near a holiday, 3 days if near a holiday, and only one holiday request is allowed
• Several days of time off during the holidays will not be approved; requests must be spread out
• Returning travelers should note specific eligibility requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 18 months RN experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not permitted
• Former staff must have been separated for 1 year from the health system and 18 months from the facility to be eligible
