Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details – Odessa, TX

• Location: Odessa, TX 79761 (West Texas healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Flexpool – Med/Surg Tele (Medical Surgical Telemetry)
• Start Date: January 13, 2026
• End Date: April 14, 2026
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36-48 (facility will consider 48 hours/week or 36/48 alternating)
• Patient Ratio: Up to 6:1
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
• Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Willingness to float to other Medical Surgical/Telemetry units as assigned
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Travel nurses must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Resume required with submission

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other Med/Surg/Tele units as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner (preferred)
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families
