Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and Nursing Division policies.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
- Utilize knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications according to policy.
- Engage in professional development and continuing nursing education.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
- 3 years of current experience working in an Emergency Department.
- Previous traveler experience with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatrics.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- ACLS Certification.
- Collaborative skills, critical thinking, and effective communication are essential.
