Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Gastroenterology
Location: Pueblo, CO (400 West 16th Street, Pueblo, CO 81003)
Position Overview:
UCHealth Parkview Medical Group s Gastroenterology team in Pueblo, Colorado, is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient department. The ideal candidate possesses a strong commitment to patient-centered care, works collaboratively within a team, and is eager to contribute to high-quality gastrointestinal health services in a vibrant community setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient care under the supervision of a board-certified Gastroenterologist within a busy clinic environment.
- Manage an outpatient caseload of approximately 20 patients daily, focusing on gastrointestinal conditions such as reflux, inflammatory bowel disease, and other digestive disorders.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Document all patient interactions and clinical notes accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Educate and empower patients regarding their conditions and treatment options, promoting adherence and optimal health outcomes.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the ongoing improvement of clinic operations and patient care processes.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Full-time, outpatient position with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- No night shifts, weekends, or on-call responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Colorado.
- Board Certified (or eligible) in their respective discipline.
- Prior experience in gastroenterology or outpatient primary care is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly EPIC, is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative healthcare team.
Additional Requirements:
- No locum or temporary assignment expectations.
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
- This position cannot support visa sponsorship.
