RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:
• Must have current Alaska RN license at time of submission
• Must have/obtain flu vaccination
• Start date will be no less than 4 weeks after fingerprint cards are received in Juneau for processing
• Must live at least 50+ miles away from facility address
• One year clinical nurse experience preferred
• Prior emergency department experience preferred
• Must have BLS and PALS upon hire, ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire date
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC/ATCN, and NRP certification required within first 6 months and bi-annually thereafter
• Coordinate and perform nursing care procedures for patients of all ages
• Work independently while maintaining complete accountability for all actions taken
• Make clinical decisions independently during scheduled shifts
• Provide nursing care for patients with multisystem disease and treatment complications
• Administer age-specific medications and therapeutics accurately
• Demonstrate knowledge of medical equipment operation and monitoring
• Assist with emergency procedures including intubations, arterial line setup, and thoracentesis
• Complete thorough nursing admission databases and initial patient assessments
• Document patient responses to care and maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Attend and participate in at least 50% of departmental staff meetings
• Complete annual competencies and maintain certifications and licensure
• Must be able to react calmly and make sound nursing judgments in emergent situations
