Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of recent experience and a KS or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a critical access hospital
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
- Every third weekend is required
- Travelers may be asked to float to different units
- Locals are allowed at the same rate
- Block scheduling may be approved on a case-by-case basis
- Uses Centricity EMR, experience preferred
- Provide care for high-risk labor and delivery patients including forceps/vacuum-assisted deliveries, C-sections, cervical cerclage cases, neonatal and newborn care, postpartum care, and pain management
- Must be able to function independently after the second shift
- References will be required for consideration
- No radius restriction for local candidates
- Block scheduling requests reviewed by management
- No specified return staff policy
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required
- Travel RN experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Experience assisting with sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests (NST), reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams, external fetal monitoring, IVs, and medication administration
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
