Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing hands-on nursing care in an inpatient acute rehabilitation unit under RN or physician supervision; coordinates patient care, maintains patient rights and confidentiality, and supports recovery for adults with neurological and orthopedic conditions. Requires graduation from accredited nursing school, a current Missouri LPN license, BLS certification, and preferably one year of related experience; part-time position at Mercy Hospital Jefferson. Role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver rehabilitative services for diagnoses such as stroke, brain/spinal injury, amputation, and joint replacement.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. About our Rehabilitation Unit:
We are also known as Acute Rehab, ARU or Inpatient Rehab. Rehabilitation nursing offers a gratifying career for nurses who want to use all of their clinical skills, make a visible difference in their patients’ lives, and work as part of a collaborative healthcare team. We provide comprehensive collaborative care to all adult and adult geriatric patients with neurological and other medical conditions of resent onset or regression and who have experienced loss of functions in activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, or communication. Frequent diagnoses: CVA, brain injury, spinal injury, amputation, hip fracture, joint replacement, and other neurological syndromes.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prefer one year experience in a related field.
Education: Requires graduation from accredited nursing school.
Licensure: Current LPN license in the state of Missouri. Must be a licensed driver.
Certifications: BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association is required.
