An Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner performs non-treatment compensation and pension medical disability examinations primarily through interviews and physical assessments. The role involves evaluating musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and metabolic conditions, documenting findings via standardized forms and timely submission of reports. This position offers flexible, PRN scheduling options without weekend or on-call duties, supporting veterans' health evaluations across various locations in Indiana.
Location: Evansville, Indiana, is the third-largest city in the state and serves as the county seat of Vanderburgh County. Located in southwestern Indiana along the Ohio River, it is a regional economic and cultural hub for Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. This opportunity is available in other parts of the state as well.

- Need is on a PRN basis, ongoing
- Willing to accept these specialties: family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, etc, or anyone with a background in general medicine, or experience with compensation and pension.
- Two (2) options for coverage - Travel and perform exams at leased facility and/or schedule Veterans within your own practice
- Option to work days(4-hours) and/or full days(8-hours)
- No weekends and no call!
- One-Time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessments
- Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment: range of motion testing, muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing, no treatment
- Quick credentialing & onboarding
- DMA certification available (can get CMEcredits) will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified
- Use of Goniometer required
- Familiar with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio required
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Own personal laptop (NO MACs)
- Training shall be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- Reporting/DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion - no narrative report. End product is completion of standardized form(s).
- Evaluations to be completed in provider portal
- Record review is required in most cases
- Follow up administrative work will be required on a regular basis (addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics)
