The Family Physician provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, focusing on preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, and management of common and chronic conditions without OB delivery responsibilities. The role requires board certification, licensure, and experience in family medicine, with an emphasis on culturally diverse community health settings and quality improvement participation. Responsibilities include clinical care, administrative duties, patient education, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team across multiple clinic sites.
Job Opportunity: Family Physician Location: Houston, TX - WestsidePosition Type: Full-Time, permanent positionEducation & Licensing Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Current board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine (AOBFM). Valid Texas State Medical License and current DEA certification. Must meet CME requirements for maintaining licensure and certification. Work Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in family medicine preferred. Experience in community health settings is a plus. Language Requirements Fluent in English. Bilingual Required: Spanish, Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, or other languages. Job Summary The Family Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to adolescents, adults, and elderly patients. Responsibilities include preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for common and chronic health conditions, as well as prenatal care for uncomplicated OB patients. Physicians are also expected to participate in quality improvement initiatives, community health activities, and administrative tasks as required. Key Responsibilities Deliver quality medical care in alignment with clinical protocols and funding guidelines. Diagnose and treat infections, chronic illnesses, and other health concerns. Provide prenatal care for uncomplicated OB patients. Monitor patients progress and adjust treatments as needed. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (e.g., injections, ECGs, dressings). Immunize patients and educate them on preventive care and lifestyle changes. Maintain accurate and timely medical records, closing charts within 48 hours. Refer patients to specialists when necessary. Participate in quality assurance, compliance, and improvement activities. Work as part of a collaborative clinical team. Participate in the on-call/Saturday rotation schedule and be flexible to work at different clinic sites. Skills & Requirements Thorough knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding. Understanding of Texas mandated reporting laws. Strong ability to relate to culturally diverse communities and patients. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Additional Responsibilities Attend community partner meetings and collaborate on health initiatives. Supervise clinical activities, assist with training, and provide mentorship as needed. Complete administrative assignments as directed by the Medical Director.
