The role involves managing a balanced hematology and oncology patient mix with approximately 30 patients per day, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including bone marrow biopsies and chemotherapy oversight. No hospital calls or rounding are required, and the practice uses the EPIC EMR system in a stable, high-volume outpatient clinic setting.
Join Our Hem/Onc Team Locum to Perm (March 2026 Start) We are seeking a highly skilled and Board Certified/Eligible Hematology Oncology Physician for a Locum Tenens to Permanent position near Hobart, Indiana. This is a full-time, outpatient-only role offering stable coverage from March 2026 to March 2027, with the potential for long-term placement. Position Details Practice Setting: 100% Outpatient Clinic. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM. Coverage Duration: March 2026 March 2027 (Locum Tenens). Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric. Practice Mix: Balanced 50% Hematology / 50% Oncology. Patient Volume: Approximately 30 patients per day in the clinic. Call: No hospital calls or rounding required. EMR: EPIC documentation system. Required Procedures & Duties The ideal candidate will be proficient in both therapeutic and diagnostic procedures: Procedures: Management of VAD/CV Catheters and Bone Marrow Biopsy. Required Duties: Prescribe treatments and order necessary tests/imaging. Participation on a Tumor Board. Management of Bone Marrow Transplants. Blood Bank Management. Oversight of Chemotherapy Administration (administered by Physician and Nurse Oncologist). Submission & Credentialing Requirements Board Certification: AMBS/AOA in one specialty with demonstrated competency in the other is required. License: Must possess an Active Indiana State License. Certification: Current BLS Certification. Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days with an IN license or 90 days without.
