American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring travel nursing experience and active GA or compact licensure.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Patient population includes cardiac, renal, pulmonary, post-surgical, vascular, and occasional overflow from ortho or CVA units
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6 on a 32-bed unit
- Duties include arrhythmia management, post-PCI care, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of various cardiac drips
- Overflow IMCU patients may be present
- Epic EMR is preferred; use of Pyxis and SBAR required
- Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00-19:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the facility is required
- Call is rare, with a two-hour response time if needed
- Compliance with all onboarding and health requirements is necessary for timely start
- Travelers are required to wear navy blue scrubs
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO); no RTO allowed during the first week
- Travelers may occasionally care for overflow patients from other units
- Holiday coverage is required depending on the number of major holidays within the assignment period
- Locals are accepted at the same pay rate
- Perm/PRN staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift on the same unit
- No blocked scheduling is permitted
- Orientation hours are determined by contract length
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year recent Telemetry experience required
- Travel nursing experience strongly required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Strong arrhythmia and cardiac drip management skills necessary
- Experience with care of post-PCI patients and management of TR Bands needed
- Ability to provide two supervisory references for consideration
