PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent clinical experience in ASU/PACU nursing
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required for healthcare jobs)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

PACU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU
• Monitor patient status, vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams for safe patient transitions
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
• Participate in weekend call rotation as scheduled
