Job Details:
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Strong urology skillset required - must have majority 3s & 4s in urology section to pass
• IV start skills required
• Patient ratio of 5 patients during nights and weekends
• Adult patient population on 38-bed unit with daily census of 28
• Weekend coverage required - must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Self-scheduling system
• BLS certification required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Floating required 100% - may float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within hospital or affiliate hospitals
• Special procedures include CBI and hand irrigations
• Skills needed: central line blood draws, heparin administration, insulin administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, PCA management, surgical drains, total joint replacement care
• Patient diagnoses include urology, plastic surgery, orthopedic oncology, and surgical oncology
• Charge pay available with $3.00 per hour bump
• First time travelers accepted
• Local IN residents not accepted for this position
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts during pay period or added to end of contract
