Job Details: Hospital Cardiac Surgery Program: Growing program Trauma Level II Practice Setting: Hospital-based Rare oversight of CRNAs at the ASC (Ambulatory Surgical Center) if no cardiac cases are scheduled Documentation System/EMR: Cerner (transitioning to EPIC), with some paper documentation Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: Cardiac surgeries: 1 per day (not every day) General cases: 5-7 per day (coverage required if no cardiac cases) Number of Anesthesiologists in Practice: 6 Patient Age Demographic: Adolescent, Child, Adult, Geriatric Very sick children are redirected to specialized facilities better equipped for pediatric care Number of Operating Rooms: 8 in use simultaneously Visa Candidates: Cannot accept visa candidates Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 8 - 12 weeks Submission Requirements: Board Certification: Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology (Preferred; Board Eligible considered) Licensing: Active Iowa license or IMLC (Highly Preferred) TEE Certification: TEE Certified (Must be able to read, interpret, and bill TEE procedures - NOT just the placement of the probe) Additional Certifications: Iowa CSR (Required), DEA (Required), Cardiac Fellowship (Preferred, extensive experience acceptable if TEE certified), BLS, ACLS, PALS (Required), COVID Vaccination (Required) Acknowledgement: Confirming that the candidate has not applied directly to this position to be eligible for onboarding through an agency Certification Requirements: ACLS, BLS, Board Certified, Board Eligible, DEA, PALS State License Requirements: Iowa Additional License Requirements: TEE Certified, IMLC Accepted, Iowa CSR Required, Fellowship-trained (Preferred) Make a Difference in Cardiac Anesthesia This locum opportunity allows you to contribute to the success of a growing cardiac surgery program while working alongside experienced professionals.
