Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of perioperative nursing experience and an active LA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital Operating Room setting
- Patient population includes ortho, cardiothoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic surgery cases
- Night shifts available, working either 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30) or 4x12 hours (19:00–07:00)
- Weekend shifts and call shifts required, with 3–4 call shifts per 4-week schedule
- Holiday shifts may be required as needed
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a wide variety of surgical procedures
- Hospital provides scrubs for all OR staff
- RTO during Mardi Gras (2/13–2/22) is discouraged due to facility needs
- Holiday coverage expectations apply as scheduled
Requirements
- Active LA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years Operating Room experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Trauma Level II OR experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
- Former permanent employees of this health system must be separated for at least 1 year before being considered
