The Deployable Staff Maintenance Trainer develops, delivers, and sustains aircraft maintenance training programs, including classroom and practical instruction at military and civilian aviation facilities. This role requires expertise in aircraft maintenance, instructional design, and leading small training teams while maintaining necessary security clearances and readiness for travel. The position supports advanced technical training to ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations in a high-security aerospace environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Performing and overseeing aircraft maintenance training content development and sustainment using engineering procedures and published process documents.
Drafting, editing, and producing materials for self-guided and practical instruction.
Conducting classroom and practical instruction to provide technical knowledge for safe maintenance, repair, and operation of aircraft, aircraft systems, ground equipment, tools, test equipment, stores and facilities, according to established procedures.
Analyzing current operating problems and future operating requirements to identify training needs and develop training programs.
Providing subject matter expert (SME) assistance and support to all divisions in determine current and future training needs and developing and managing their maintenance training programs.
Leading a small team of Maintenance Trainers in training content development, delivery, and sustainment in multiple locations.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of related job experience; or a Master’s degree with 10 years of related job experience; or a PhD with 8 years of related job experience or 16 years experience in lieu of degree.
Experience as a military or civilian maintenance trainer.
Experience in military or civilian aircraft maintenance.
Experience in training content development, delivery and instructional design methodologies.
Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Content Management Systems such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate, Learning Management Systems such as Learning Exchange, or other related software suites used for learning content management.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, utilize subject matter experts, team members, and established processes to create and sustain training materials under minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills are required for the position.
Ability to lead small teams for training projects with minimal management oversight.
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include alternate/second shifts, extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
Mandatory 25% annual travel requirement as a condition of employment.
Must maintain required medical/training qualifications for worldwide travel as a condition of employment.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours continuously with resting time provided approximately every 2 hours.
Must be able to operate heavy equipment/machinery such as industrial lift vehicles, etc.
Must be able to perform maintenance training activities in bending, rotating, overhead, and under fix objects scenarios.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree
- Formal Military or Civilian Training Instructor Certification/Degree
- Experience in courseware development/ISD/ADDIE modeling
- Experience with Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Captivate products
