Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician
Job Details:
• Perform all aspects of patient exam activities in nuclear medicine at a technical level
• Specialize in performing diagnostic studies in nuclear medicine imaging
• Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns
• Operate and maintain all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment
• Perform diagnostic studies including measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes
• Properly identify, prepare and/or administer medications/substances within technologist scope of practice
• Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety procedures
• Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats
• Maintain adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing
• Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks
• May assist other areas of radiology as assigned
• Weekend schedule: Saturday and Sunday (every 5th or 6th weekend)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required certifications: BLS, ARRT
• Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine with ARRT or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
• 2 years Nuclear Medicine Technician experience required
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application preferred
